After living all over the USA (we moved to New Mexico from Kauai, Hawaii), we have finally ended our quest to find the perfect place to live...Chacon, New Mexico. We sit at approximately 8,000 feet in altitude on the eastern slope of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico. Our 121 acre ranch is home to elk, deer, mountain lion, bobcat, beaver, coyote, fox, red-tailed hawks, eagles, and other NM wildlife. A river that runs through the property is home to native trout. There are many springs on the property and an orchard with hundreds of apple, plum (three varieties), pear and cherry trees. The property was once a village of 17 buildings and we have restored the last two 100 year old adobe buildings that were still standing when we bought the property. We have built a beautiful three stall horse barn and huge (28x64ft) sheep barn. We have two natural spring fed koi/goldfish ponds, one with a waterfall. We share our lives with three very spoiled Ibizan Hounds, two cats, three horses, many Navajo Churro and Karakul sheep, three Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs, lots of chickens and barn cats. We hope you enjoy visiting our website...our little piece of heaven. |
